Today’s SCOOP is brought to you by our .

Dear New Yorkers,

Andrew Cuomo’s mayoral campaign last month released a list with what it billed as endorsements from the heads of tenant associations at 27 NYCHA developments.

But five tenant association presidents who appeared on the list told THE CITY they have not endorsed Cuomo, and others say they never signed off on their names being used.

“How did that happen?” asked Jeannette Salcedo, head of the resident tenants association at the Castle Hill Houses in The Bronx. “I did not endorse him. I did not. I don’t know who I’m endorsing. My questions, as far as I’m concerned, haven’t been answered.”

More than half a million New Yorkers live in NYCHA developments citywide and securing the endorsements of the tenant leaders can serve as a boon for any mayoral campaign.

Read up on the Cuomo endorsements that might not be.

Judge Blocks Columbia Student’s Arrest

A federal judge in Manhattan issued an order Thursday blocking the federal government from arresting or detaining 21-year-old Columbia student Yunseo Chung without the court’s approval.

In March, Secretary of State Marco Rubioa threat to the government’s foreign policy because of her participation in pro-Palestinian campus protests. ICE agents unsuccessfully tried to arrest her in early March.

She’s among at least three legal permanent residents who attend or attended Columbia University whom the federal government is seeking to deport.

Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald’s preliminary injunction toughens the protection against Chung’s seizure beyond a temporary restraining order the judge previously issued.

She also denied a government motion to dismiss the complaint Chung filed challenging the government’s efforts against her, in part for violating her free speech rights. The judge also prohibited the government from transferring her out of the court’s jurisdiction.
